Emergencies
When is it an emergency?
Junk removal is scheduled, not dispatched as an emergency.
A full trash-out inside a unit turn belongs to the turn, sequenced ahead of the clean and the paint. Junk removal is for everything else.
Licensing
What license does a vendor need in Florida?
General information, not legal advice.
Hauling is not a licensed contracting category in Florida. Junk removal does not appear among the contractor categories in section 489.105 of the Florida Statutes.
Old appliances bring a federal rule with them. Household refrigerators, freezers and window air conditioners usually reach the waste stream with their refrigerant still inside, and EPA's safe disposal rules under section 608 of the Clean Air Act make the final person in the disposal chain, a scrap recycler or a landfill, say, responsible for making sure it is recovered. If the refrigerant was recovered earlier, that disposer keeps a signed statement saying who recovered it and when, or a contract with its regular supplier that covers the recovery.
Any Florida license can be checked by name or number on the state's Verify a Licensee search at myfloridalicense.com.

Questions
Questions about junk removal.
Is a trash-out junk removal or unit turnover?
A trash-out inside a unit turn is part of the turn, sequenced ahead of the clean and the paint. Junk removal covers the rest: a couch at the dumpster, bulk trash in a corral, items left behind outside a turn.
What happens to an old refrigerator?
EPA's safe disposal rules make the final person in the disposal chain, such as a scrap recycler or a landfill, responsible for making sure its refrigerant is recovered. If it was recovered earlier, that disposer keeps a signed statement saying who did it and when, or a contract with its regular supplier that covers it.
