What is included
What does tile and flooring repair cover?
- Cracked or loose tile removed and replaced, with grout matched as closely as the stock allows.
- Grout cleaned out and redone where it has failed.
- Damaged planks or sheets of hard flooring replaced.
- Before and after photos attached to the job.
Emergencies
When is it an emergency?
Tile and flooring repair is scheduled, not dispatched as an emergency. It is booked to a date.
Water on the floor goes out as plumbing or emergency restoration, marked Emergency if it is actively coming in, and the flooring is booked once the source is stopped and the subfloor is dry. Carpet goes to carpet installation.
Licensing
What license does a vendor need in Florida?
General information, not legal advice.
Section 489.117(4)(a)1 of the Florida Statutes says a city or county may not require a license for a job scope that does not substantially correspond to a contractor category in s. 489.105(3) or a certified specialty category. Among the job scopes it names are flooring, and decorative stone, tile, marble, granite or terrazzo installation.
Florida's contractor licensing law has no flooring category, so a flooring or tile vendor needs no state contractor license, and a local one cannot be required. It is the same rule the carpet installation page relies on.
Any Florida license can be checked by name or number on the state's Verify a Licensee search at myfloridalicense.com.
