Emergency restoration for water, smoke and sewage, mitigation first.
1Stop dispatches emergency restoration for water, smoke and sewage damage: mitigation first, then the repair. Restoration has no response target yet: HQ calls back to say whether 1Stop can cover the job, and a target is published once an approved vendor covers restoration in the county.

Emergencies
When is it an emergency?
Restoration is always an emergency. There is no response target for it yet: HQ calls back to say whether 1Stop can cover the job, and a target is published once an approved vendor covers restoration in the county.
Lake and Polk counties take planned work only, so mitigation is not dispatched against a clock there, though the repair that follows can be scheduled. The rest of the region's counties have no response target yet.
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, according to NOAA's National Hurricane Center.
Licensing
What license does a vendor need in Florida?
General information, not legal advice.
Florida licenses mold work separately from construction. Section 468.8411 of the Florida Statutes defines mold remediation as treating more than 10 square feet of mold, and section 468.8419 bars a remediator from doing it without complying with that part of the statutes, under which DBPR licenses mold remediators.
The same definition sets a limit. Remediation may not include work that needs a construction license under chapter 489 unless a licensed contractor does it, so any rebuild that touches a licensed trade, such as plumbing, goes to that trade.
Any Florida license can be checked by name or number on the state's Verify a Licensee search at myfloridalicense.com.

Questions
Questions about emergency restoration.
How fast does 1Stop respond to water damage?
Not against a published target yet. HQ calls back to say whether 1Stop can cover the job, and a restoration target is published once an approved vendor covers it in the county. Lake and Polk counties take planned work only, and the other ten counties in the region have no response target yet.
Does mold remediation need a license in Florida?
Yes, when it covers more than 10 square feet. Sections 468.8411 and 468.8419 of the Florida Statutes set that threshold and require compliance with the state's mold licensing law, which DBPR administers.
When is hurricane season?
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, according to NOAA's National Hurricane Center.
