What is included
What does janitorial cover?
- A written nightly scope sheet per site: what gets cleaned, what gets restocked, what gets checked.
- Offices, common areas and retail space, on a daily or nightly schedule.
- Supplies managed by 1Stop rather than left to the site.
- A day porter for common areas during business hours, on the same contract.
- After photos attached to each visit.
Emergencies
When is it an emergency?
Janitorial is never dispatched as an emergency. It runs on a calendar.
Something found on a cleaning round can be one, though. Water on the floor from a supply line, or sewage from a drain, is a plumbing or restoration call: send it under that trade and mark it Emergency.
Licensing
What license does a vendor need in Florida?
General information, not legal advice.
Florida's contractor licensing law does not cover cleaning. Section 489.105 of the Florida Statutes lists the contractor categories the state licenses, from general and roofing contractors to plumbing and air conditioning, and cleaning is not one of them.
What 1Stop asks of a janitorial vendor instead is a current certificate of insurance and a W-9 on file. The state asks for neither; 1Stop does.
Any Florida license can be checked by name or number on the state's Verify a Licensee search at myfloridalicense.com.

Questions
Questions about janitorial.
Is janitorial billed per job or per month?
Per month. Recurring janitorial is the one trade on a monthly contract. Every other trade is quoted per job, per unit or by the hour, and all of it lands on the same monthly statement.
Does a janitorial vendor need a Florida contractor license?
No state contractor license covers cleaning. Section 489.105 of the Florida Statutes lists the categories Florida licenses, and cleaning is not among them.
