Emergencies

When is it an emergency?

Carpet soaked by a leak or a backup is a different job. That is restoration: the water comes out and the space is dried before anyone decides what can be saved.

Licensing

What license does a vendor need in Florida?

General information, not legal advice.

No Florida contractor license covers carpet cleaning. Cleaning does not appear among the contractor categories in section 489.105 of the Florida Statutes.

Any Florida license can be checked by name or number on the state's Verify a Licensee search at myfloridalicense.com.

Questions

Questions about carpet cleaning.

Is carpet cleaning part of a unit turn?

It can be. A turn runs trash-out, clean, paint, carpet, punch and inspect, and the carpet step is cleaning or replacement depending on what the carpet needs.

What if the carpet is wet from a leak?

Send it as emergency restoration, not carpet cleaning. The water comes out and the space is dried first; what can be saved is decided after.
