For vendors · Tree trimming and removal

1Stop Service Pro is taking tree service vendors in the 58 counties of North and Central Florida. Joining costs nothing, 1Stop dispatches the work and is the contracting party, tree service is billed per job, and vendors are paid net-14. Florida's contractor licensing law does not reach tree work; at a single-family home, an arborist's written risk finding lets the owner remove a tree that poses an unacceptable risk without a local permit.

The work

What tree service work does 1Stop send?

Pruning, dead and hazardous limbs, tree removal, stump grinding and haul-off, for managed properties. It is billed per job, and it goes on your payout statement for the period, which 1Stop pays net-14 from completion.

1Stop is the contracting party: it buys the job from you and sells it to the property manager, so you invoice one company and never bid against other vendors for the work.

Licensing

What license does a tree service vendor need in Florida?

Trimming and removing trees is not one of the contractor categories that section 489.105 of the Florida Statutes licenses.

Section 163.045 of the Florida Statutes limits what a local government can require at a single-family home. It defines residential property as a single-family, detached building on a lot actively used for single-family residential purposes. On that property, a local government may not require a notice, application, approval, permit, fee or mitigation to prune, trim or remove a tree if the owner has documentation from an ISA-certified arborist or a Florida licensed landscape architect that the tree poses an unacceptable risk, and it may not require the tree to be replanted.

Documentation means a signed onsite assessment made under the tree risk assessment procedures in Best Management Practices: Tree Risk Assessment, Second Edition (2017). The section does not apply to mangrove protection. Apartments and commercial sites are outside its definition of residential property, so the section does not reach them.

What 1Stop holds on file for every tree service vendor is a current certificate of insurance and a W-9.
