The work

What pool service work does 1Stop send?

Cleaning and water chemistry on a route, pump, filter and heater repair, for managed properties. It is billed per job, and it goes on your payout statement for the period, which 1Stop pays net-14 from completion.

1Stop is the contracting party: it buys the job from you and sells it to the property manager, so you invoice one company and never bid against other vendors for the work.

Licensing

What license does a pool service vendor need in Florida?

Florida licenses pool work in three classes under section 489.105 of the Florida Statutes. A commercial pool/spa contractor can build, repair and service any pool, public or private. A residential pool/spa contractor does the same for residential pools. A swimming pool/spa servicing contractor's scope is repair and servicing, of public and private pools alike.

The servicing license covers repairing or replacing existing equipment, installing new equipment, refinishing, pool heaters, perimeter and filter piping, cleaning or sanitizing that takes equipment at least partly apart (filter changes aside), and substantially draining a pool for repair. None of the three licenses covers a direct connection to a sanitary sewer or a potable water line.

Routine service needs no license. The same section says no license is required to clean a pool or spa in a way that does not affect its structure or its equipment, or to treat the water, so long as no equipment is installed, modified or replaced.

1Stop holds that license on file before it dispatches pool service work, along with a current certificate of insurance and a W-9.
