The work

What pest control work does 1Stop send?

Roaches, ants, rodents and bed bugs, on a recurring route or a one-off call, for managed properties. It is billed per job, and it goes on your payout statement for the period, which 1Stop pays net-14 from completion.

1Stop is the contracting party: it buys the job from you and sells it to the property manager, so you invoice one company and never bid against other vendors for the work.

Licensing

What license does a pest control vendor need in Florida?

Florida licenses pest control through the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, not DBPR, under chapter 482 of the Florida Statutes. Section 482.071 makes it unlawful to run a pest control business the department has not licensed, and the license is issued for each business location and renewed every year.

Each licensed location must have a certified operator in charge, certified in the categories of work done there (section 482.111): general household pest control, termites and other wood-destroying organisms, lawn and ornamental pest control, and fumigation. Every employee who performs pest control must carry a department identification card (section 482.091).

The license comes with an insurance floor of its own. Section 482.071(4) requires bodily injury coverage of $250,000 per person and $500,000 per occurrence and property damage coverage of $250,000 per occurrence and $500,000 in the aggregate, or a combined single limit of $500,000.

1Stop holds that license on file before it dispatches pest control work, along with a current certificate of insurance and a W-9.
