The work

What garage door repair work does 1Stop send?

Sections, springs, cables, tracks, openers and safety sensors, for managed properties. It is billed per job, and it goes on your payout statement for the period, which 1Stop pays net-14 from completion.

1Stop is the contracting party: it buys the job from you and sells it to the property manager, so you invoice one company and never bid against other vendors for the work.

Licensing

What license does a garage door repair vendor need in Florida?

Florida's board has set up a certified garage door installation specialty, and Rule 61G4-15.100 of the Florida Administrative Code gives its scope as fabricating, assembling, erecting, installing, adjusting, repairing and servicing garage doors, including the related hardware and operating devices. Section 489.113(6)(a) of the Florida Statutes says a certified specialty category exists as a voluntary statewide licensing category and does not create a mandatory licensing requirement.

The rule lets this contractor install low voltage wiring for safety features and cord and cap connections to the devices, motors and equipment. Any other electrical work related to the door, including wire removal or rewiring and installing receptacles, lights and switches, has to be subcontracted to a licensed electrical contractor.

Section 489.117(4)(a) of the Florida Statutes bars a local government from requiring a license for a job scope that does not substantially correspond to a state contractor category or a certified specialty. Because garage door installation is a certified specialty, a city or county may still require a local license for it.

What 1Stop holds on file for every garage door repair vendor is a current certificate of insurance and a W-9.
