The work

What shutter and storm prep work does 1Stop send?

Shutter repair and installation, and shutters checked, stored or hung ahead of the season, for managed properties. It is billed per job, and it goes on your payout statement for the period, which 1Stop pays net-14 from completion.

1Stop is the contracting party: it buys the job from you and sells it to the property manager, so you invoice one company and never bid against other vendors for the work.

Licensing

What license does a shutter and storm prep vendor need in Florida?

Florida's board has set up a certified window and door installation specialty. Rule 61G4-15.100 of the Florida Administrative Code gives its scope as exterior windows and doors, hurricane protection devices, shutters and hardware in connection with them that do not affect structural changes. Section 489.113(6)(a) of the Florida Statutes says a certified specialty category exists as a voluntary statewide licensing category and does not create a mandatory licensing requirement.

Section 553.842(5) of the Florida Statutes lists shutters and impact protective systems among the product categories that need statewide approval. A product may not be advertised, sold, offered, provided, distributed or marketed as hurricane, windstorm or impact protection from wind-borne debris unless it is approved under that section or the other approval route the subsection names, and a person who does so without approval is subject to the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.

The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, according to NOAA's National Hurricane Center.

What 1Stop holds on file for every shutter and storm prep vendor is a current certificate of insurance and a W-9.
